COMPANY:

Our client is an international company operating in Côte d’Ivoire, within the logistics and maritime services sector.

We are recruiting for their account a General Ledger (GL) Executive.

MISSIONS

General Ledger & Accounting Control

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounting entries are accurate, complete, and compliant.
  • Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, provisions, adjustments, prepayments, and depreciation.
  • Review and validate entries posted by AR, AP, and other departments.

Reconciliations

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts (bank, AR, AP, intercompany, taxes, petty cash, fixed assets, etc.).
  • Identify discrepancies, analyze root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ensure reconciliation files are properly documented, reviewed, and archived.

Month-End Closing & Reporting

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities in line with group deadlines.
  • Prepare trial balance reviews and explain variances.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with IFRS / SYSCOHADA standards, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial controls and accounting processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Invoicing/Documentation teams to ensure accurate financial data capture.
  • Coordinate with AP and AR/Cash teams to ensure proper posting and reconciliations.
  • Provide financial data and explanations to the Finance Manager as required.

PROFIL

  • Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: 5 years’ experience in accounting or general ledger roles, preferably in logistics, shipping, or a multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Integrity, reliability, and a proactive mindset.
